We received a call from a homeowner about squirrels that were nesting inside her chimney. We did a site assessment and found that an older chimney cap was damaged and that the squirrels were nesting on top of the chimney underneath the cap. Through our inspection it was determined that the nest was inactive at the time. We advised the client to have the cap replaced in order to prevent squirrels from coming back. In addition stainless steel gabled vent covers were installed to animal proof the house.
