Squirrel Removal in Westchester, NY

For fast, effective squirrel removal in Westchester, NY, count on the professionals at Intrepid Wildlife Services. We understand that an unwelcome squirrel in your home can be more than a nuisance -- this unwanted visitor can literally eat you out of house and home. While relatively difficult to catch, squirrels have the talent of being able to eat through a variety of common household materials, chewing away at ceilings, walls, and even the internal structure of your home. Our years of experience in wildlife control have taught us how to most effectively catch a squirrel that is squatting on your property, and remove it in a way that is both simple and humane.

Our goal is not to kill the animal that's paid an unwelcome visit to your property, but to get him to leave and deter him from coming back in the future. We inspect your property, letting you know if you have an intruder from the outside, and how best to protect your home from animals working their way inside from that point on. The experts at Intrepid Wildlife Services will seal the vulnerable areas in your home, and provide stainless steel chimney caps, eliminating easy access to the property.

When you need squirrel removal in Westchester, NY, you can't afford to wait around for a fly-by-night company to get around to dealing with your issue. At Intrepid Wildlife Services, your call is always our top priority, and we offer competitive pricing on all our services, making us the only call you need to make when you have squirrels damaging the interior of your home. Call today for an inspection, and let us help you make sure outdoor wildlife stays outdoors!

BIOLOGY:

Gray squirrels are the most prevalent of the squirrel species, seen commonly in yards, parks etc. In Westchester County, the gray squirrel has young all year long with the exception of January and February with an average of 3-5 young.

Unlike the gray squirrel, flying squirrels are nocturnal and very social. Flying squirrels will den in attics and walls, with as many as 15 flying squirrels denning together.

Like most rodents, squirrels are very aggressive chewers. Squirrels will chew through wood, enlarging even the tiniest of openings, allowing entry. Once inside, squirrels will reside in attics where they will nest and rear young. This nesting material retains odor from the accumulation of droppings and urine. Squirrels can also fall down chimneys allowing them access to living space. Damage done to electrical and phone lines through chewing in combination with nesting material, can pose a serious fire hazard.
